This Privacy Policy explains how Teddy Lounge collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore and other applicable laws.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
- Name, email, phone number
- Date of birth, gender, preferences
- Profile photos and descriptions
- Verification documents (where required)
b. Automatically Collected Information
- Device information, IP address
- App usage data and logs
- Cookies and similar technologies (for web access)
c. Contact Sync Information (Optional)
If you choose to use our contact sync privacy feature, we will ask for your consent before any upload. With your permission, we read phone numbers from your device contacts and upload them to our secure servers, where they are hashed and encrypted. We use this data only to avoid showing you people you already know, and to avoid showing your profile to those people. We do not use synced contact data for marketing or sell it to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Verify identity and maintain platform integrity
- Provide matchmaking and community features
- Process payments and subscriptions
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Communicate updates, security notices, and support responses
- Facilitate connections between users, including sharing certain contact details when you choose to provide them
- With your consent, upload phone numbers from your device contacts to our secure servers in hashed and encrypted form so we can prevent matching you with people already in your personal contacts
3. Disclosure of Information
We may share your data with:
- Service providers (hosting, payments, analytics)
- Legal authorities when required by law
- Other users on the platform, where you have voluntarily provided contact details or consented to such sharing for the purpose of matchmaking and communication
Providing contact details (such as phone numbers or social media handles) is optional. However, choosing not to provide such details may limit your chances of being matched or contacted by other users.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for business and legal purposes.
If you sync contacts, we retain the hashed and encrypted contact data only for as long as needed to provide the contact-hiding feature, unless you remove it earlier from Settings or request deletion.
If you delete your account in the App, we remove or anonymize your profile and personal details; limited records may be kept where required by law or for safety, security, and fraud prevention.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure.
6. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent
- Request deletion of your data
If you previously synced contacts, you can withdraw consent and remove synced contact data from Settings.

7. Third-Party Links & Services
The App may contain links to third-party services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
8. Children's Privacy
Teddy Lounge does not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18.
9. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in the App or on our website.
